Oman Oil Company (OOC), the Government’s investment arm in the energy related sectors, and Business Gateways International (BGI), have signed a Master Subscription Agreement and Service Level Agreement (SLA) as OOC and a number of its Group of companies to join the Buyers Community of the Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS). The JSRS is an ICV initiative spearheaded by the Oman Ministry of Oil & Gas and is currently utilised by major Oil & Gas operating companies in Oman. The JSRS is developed and managed by
Business Gateways International LLC and is hosted on www.businessgateways.com. By OOC joining the Buyers Community to connect to the JSRS certified suppliers, the JSRS is now successfully expanding to the non-Oil & Gas Industries of Oman. The agreement was signed at OOC’s headquarters by Mr. Saleh Abdullah Al Musalhi, Director of Human Capital, ICT and Supply Chain at OOC, on behalf of Oman Oil Company and Mr. Hafidh Saif Al Mahruqi, Vice Chairman of Business Gateways, with the presence of officials from both sides.
This strategic partnership is part of the efforts being made to standardize approved list of supplier and category management. OOC and its subsidiaries as they join the JSRS, can access “business ready”, credibility verified and continually monitored supplier pool of over 4000+ Omani companies (SME & Large) and over 1500+ International companies spread across 80 countries.
Commenting on the signing, Mr. Saleh Abdullah Al Musalhi, Director of Human Capital, ICT and Supply Chain at OOC, said: “The JSRS is a valuable tool for procurement and has reached a high level of maturity in its supplier strengths and quality of services. I am pleased that Oman Oil Company and its Subsidiaries are going to utilise this System and hope that Omani suppliers gain more opportunities by our presence on the JSRS.”

The entry of OOC and its subsidiaries in the JSRS, mark the first integration of group of companies within the diverse energy sector that would begin using the JSRS for their procurement. As the first phase of integration, OOC along with the subsidiaries shall be mandating its suppliers to be certified on the JSRS.
