Unlocking Hydrogen's Potential: Oman's Green Hydrogen Master Plan as the Key to Renewable Energy

Posco, Engie, PTTEP and Samsung among partners for $7 billion green hydrogen project in Oman


In June 2023, a consortium led by Engie and Posco was awarded a 340-square kilometre onshore concession in Duqm, Oman, to develop a $7 billion green hydrogen project. The project is expected to produce 200,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, which will be used to produce green ammonia for export.


The consortium includes other major companies, such as PTTEP, Samsung Engineering, Korea East-West Power and Korea Southern Power Company. The project is expected to be operational by 2030.
