[28 April to 2 May 2024] Oman Sustainability Week

Oman Sustainability Week is Oman’s National Event for Future Energy, Power, Water, Waste and Environment and Society held under the patronage of Oman Ministry of Energy & Minerals (MEM) as Host Ministry and hosted by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) as Host Organisation.

The week-long event scheduled to be held from 28 April to 2 May 2024, provides a national platform to highlight Oman’s commitment to sustainability leadership through innovative strategies aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 2040 Oman Vision and engage the national development stakeholders to present Oman as a new model for sustainable development. With over 100 participating companies and 8,000+ industry professionals expected to gather over five days of opportunities for showcasing industry innovation, knowledge exchange and networking, the event provides brand exposure to the right audience, showcase latest technologies, renewable energy solutions, and eco-friendly initiatives.

Bringing together key stakeholders, policy makers, sustainability experts and industry leaders, the event comprises the following activities to focus on the core message of sustainability as Oman’s national objective.
  • Oman Sustainability Awards: Annual national awards that assess organizations operating in the Sultanate of Oman in areas of sustainability and corporate responsibility.
  • Oman Sustainability Week Expo: An enriching business platform for the sustainability industry to network, showcase innovative strategies aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and engage with the national development stakeholders and policy makers to present Oman as a leader in sustainable development.
  • OSW TALKS: Knowledge forum designed to educate and inspire attendees on best practices, innovations, and technologies. Throughout the programme, leading energy, environmental, and academic institutions provide attendees with solutions, forecasts, and educational insights that support their career and business goals.
  • International Sustainability Resources & Technology Conference (ISRTC): The ISRTC aims to connect local and global stakeholders across academia, industry, and public sector to foster constructive debate and enhance cross-collaboration.
  • SPE GAIA Summit: With an aim of fostering sustainability leadership, the two-day SPE Gaia Summit covers highly interactive sessions allowing participants to engage in deep discussions with experts and peers about the opportunities and challenges of connecting systemic complexities with their day-to-day operational practices and decision-making.
  • Shell Nawafedh: An activity designed to provide Omani youth with the opportunity to explore the future energy market through a structured and integrated technical and life skill curriculum.
  • Shell NXplorers: An innovative education programme for youth aged 10 to 19 that introduces the complex and creative thinking skills and tools needed to become positive agents in the process of change.
  • Site Visits: The guided tours offer the attendees an opportunity to visit carefully chosen projects that are on the forefront of building a sustainable environment across the Sultanate of Oman.
