Omani Creativestake Dubai by Storm

Muscat Twenty four Omani craft businesses exhibited their products at Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates this past weekend.
Organized by Ithraa in partnership with the SME Authority, the show was an opportunity for Oman’s craft industries to expand into the UAE market and increase the Sultanate’s exports of jewelry, silverware, as well as unique and contemporary cosmetics, fragrances and soap and bath products.
“Oman’s craft sector is dominated by micro-businesses. However, given the underlying skill and talent of craft workers in Oman and the positive market reputation for Omani crafts, we’ve a comparative advantage in this sector. While there are challenges facing the industry there’s also potential for growth and for the sector to expand exports, output and employment,” said Mrs. Nasima Al Balushi, Ithraa’s Director General of Export Development.
According to several exhibitors, the show was extremelywell received, so much so that manysold their entire stock at the event and some signed export deals.
