BP Plans Exploration Drive at Major U.S. Gulf Play in 2026

OBP is preparing to drill the Conifer exploration well in the U.S. Gulf later this year, targeting the Paleogene play where the company is already advancing two major growth projects. The exploration campaign reflects BP’s continued investment in expanding its upstream portfolio in the region.

The project is expected to strengthen the company’s resource base and support long-term production growth in the Gulf of Mexico. Read More

Shell Takes Stake in Oman’s Green Energy Oman (GEO) Hydrogen Project

Shell plc has acquired a 35% equity stake in the Green Energy Oman (GEO) project, a large-scale renewable fuels initiative valued at $30 billion. Developed in partnership with OQ, InterContinental Energy, EnerTech, and Golden Wellspring Wealth, the project aims to deploy 25 GW of wind and solar capacity to produce green hydrogen and ammonia for global markets.

The development supports Oman’s long-term renewable energy strategy under Vision 2040, with construction expected to begin in 2026. Read More
