PDO Signs 15-Year Agreement with SPETCO for Gas Project in Oman

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has signed a 15-year agreement with Kuwait-based SPETCO to develop the Budour Tayseer Gas Project in Oman. The project will produce sweet gas along with condensate and sulphur, and will be executed under a design–build–own–operate–maintain model.

The development supports Oman’s In-Country Value goals through local procurement, job creation and workforce development, while leveraging SPETCO’s expertise in gas processing and upstream services. Read More

Tethys Oil Sees Potential Hydrocarbon Discovery in Oman’s Block 58

Tethys Oil has commenced flow testing at its Kunooz-1 exploration well in Block 58 in southwest Oman, targeting hydrocarbon prospects in the Fahd area. Preliminary results are expected within two weeks, with the prospect estimated to hold over 100 million barrels of unrisked recoverable resources.

The development follows recent approval of the Block 56 Field Development Plan and highlights Tethys Oil’s growing upstream footprint in Oman, with Block 58 seen as a potential game-changer for the company’s regional operations. Read More

Daleel Petroleum LCC Certification on JSRS

An ICV initiative designed to provide Local Community Contractors priority access to business opportunities.

Daleel Petroleum has introduced the Local Community Contractors (LCC) Certification as a Special Status within JSRS, supporting eligible Omani companies from its concession areas. This initiative enhances supplier visibility and enables targeted sourcing by Daleel Petroleum and its contractors. Existing and new JSRS suppliers can now apply for the Daleel Petroleum LCC Special Status through the JSRS portal.
