The Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) is quickly becoming a National Procurement Initiative in Oman, a primary sourcing base of Oman’s Oil & Gas and other major Industries’ procurement system. With our community growing every month, we are shedding light on the new entrants who have recently joined JSRS.

November ’22 saw over 130+ Suppliers certified on JSRS from Oman and around the world. Here is a pie-chart that offers a Sector-wise breakdown of the Certified Suppliers this month. Buyers Community

The JSRS Buyers Community is a highly reputed group of organizations consisting of all the Oil & Gas Operators, Other Industry Buyers, Contractors, EPCs across Oman. At present, we have 20+ Oil & Gas Operators and Other Industry Buyers. Explore the JSRS Buyers Community

JSRS Search Statistics

The JSRS Certified Suppliers Network (JSRS CSN) consists of thousands of potential Clients, Suppliers and Partners who could be looking at your company for business opportunities, partnerships, etc. During November ’22, over 4600+ searches were made for Products and Services on the JSRS. Local Community Contractors

The ‘Local Community Contractor’ (LCC) Special Status is for companies operating within the concession areas of certain Operators. LCCs who meet specific criteria, as defined by these Operators, are identified on the JSRS Certificate as ‘Special Status’ LCC. Companies with the LCC Special Status benefit from priority procurement opportunities from respective Operators.

Omani Suppliers who qualify to be Local Community Contractors (LCCs) can apply for the LCC Special Status in their JSRS Certificate. LCC Special Status approval on the Certificate is currently endorsed by Petroleum Development of Oman (PDO), Duqm Refinery – OQ and CC Energy Development (CCED).

JSRS Identifies and Certifies the LCC Suppliers and facilitate them with a secured tendering system for the main Contractors to float their LCC Obligated Opportunities to credible LCC Suppliers. Operators are empowered with a JSRS- CMS track and monitoring system for the ICV spend within various Supplier Communities like LCCs and SMEs

iAdvisory Webinar: Connecting Singapore Businesses

to Opportunities in Oman (Conducted Successfully)

Enterprise Singapore, in association with Business Gateways, organized an iAdvisory Webinar on 15 November 2022. The major focus of the webinar was to discuss Oman’s 2040 Vision to prioritise technological innovation, digitalization, its diversified Energy Sector, and the increasing use of Renewable Energy. This session also highlighted the potential in emerging Sectors of Oman, such as Agritech and Aquaculture. While also discussing why Oman is the key emerging economy in the Middle East. The main objective was to create awareness of how Singapore Companies can prepare market entry strategies to tap Oman’s vast potential and get the chance to connect with Omani business leaders to explore partnerships.

Enabling ICV through SME / LCC Obligation Based Contract Opportunities

The JSRS Contracts Management System (JSRS-CMS), is a special initiative by the Oman Ministry of Energy and Minerals, to offer Equal Opportunities to Omani SMEs / LCCs, during the process of dispersing ICV based Obligation Contract Awards. The JSRS-CMS is a one-stop platform integrating Supplier Sourcing, Response, Award & Tracking of the entire Project’s / Contract’s Supply Chain.

In October 2022, 6 Local Suppliers were Awarded SME / LCC Obligation Based Contract Opportunities through the JSRS-CMS. Here is a breakdown of SME / LCC Obligation Based Contract Opportunities provided to certified Suppliers on the JSRS-CMS within the Oil & Gas and Other Industries in Oman.

OIA announces 10 national projects with investment of over OMR 750 Million

Marking the 52nd National Day, Oman Investment Authority (OIA) announced the beginning of the inauguration of 10 national projects distributed geographically in a number of governorates across different sectors, with an investment value of +OMR 750 Million. Read More

Ta’zeez Training Programme for SMEs

PDO recently conducted its Ta’zeez Training Programme, the objective of which is to train & equip Omani SMEs to effectively compete and win opportunities from PDO.

To enable SMEs participate in ICV based SME Obligation contracts, BGI presented the JSRS and trained the attendees on receiving, responding and bidding for opportunities, online on the JSRS. They were also trained on the utilization of the JSRS-CMS, which contains a comprehensive eTendering module, that enable transparent procurement events.

Past Event Highlights

18 November 2022: Oman Celebrated its 52nd National Day

Under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, who affirmed his constant quest to advance Oman’s modern cultural and economic status, the Sultanate of Oman marked the 52nd National Day anniversary on 18 November 2022.

Addressing the citizens of Oman, His Majesty the Sultan highlighted the significance of national identity.

“Openness to the world must be in a balanced, clear-cut manner.

When interacting with technology, we must hold on to our originality,”

His Majesty the Sultan has also emphasised the role of education and vocational training in the labour market. Technical Education will be aligned with General Education so that they, together, nurture Technical Specialization.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has endorsed 2050 as the year for achieving zero carbon emissions. A national plan for this objective includes the establishment of Oman Sustainability Center, based on the outputs of the Carbon Management Laboratory.

The Government Digital Transformation Program is also set to achieve the goals set out for Oman Vision 2040, with Automation of government services set to rise from 34% in 2020 to 80% by 2050, and the expected investment volume set at OMR 170 Million. Investments will be made in improving procedures, re-engineering government services, improving digital infrastructure, and empowering national competencies in digital transformation.

Allocations for the Governorates Development Program have increased to 20 Million Omani Rial (OMR) (USD 51.9 Million). The worth of additional projects endorsed for implementation during the rest of the 10th Five Year Plan (2021-2025) exceeds OMR 650 Million.

The BGI Oman team celebrated Oman’s 52nd National Day with great pride, good food and fanfare!

BGI visited the Oncology Department of Royal Hospital, Oman, and distributed gifts to the children as part of our CSR initiative known as ‘Masoolia’.

We pray for the wellbeing of the little ones and wish them a speedy recovery.
