businessgateways & the M-TIPB (MSME Trade & Investment Promotion Bureau, MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, India) jointly hosted a webinar on 'Connecting to Oman's Procurement Action' on 12 August 2020.

The 90-minute webinar focused on how Oman's Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) can support the Tamil Nadu MSME community to develop opportunities, promote export & investment partnerships between Tamil Nadu, India, and the Sultanate of Oman.

Dr. K. Gopal IAS.,

Principal Secretary to Government (FAC), Government of Tamil Nadu

Dr. K. Gopal is a 1992 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, currently the Principal Secretary to Government, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Department, and also holding Full Additional Charge of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department. He has been empanelled to Additional Secretary rank level at Government of India.

He holds a graduation in Medicine from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad and has worked across the State and Center of Indian governance. He also worked in UNICEF- India Country office at New Delhi (on UN deputation). Dr. Gopal has served as Chairman of Tobacco Board (Commerce Ministry), Development Commissioner, Handicrafts (Textiles Ministry) at Government of India.

Ms. Anu George IAS.,

Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce/MD, M-TIPB Govt. of Tamil Nadu

Ms. Anu George is a 2003 batch IAS officer, currently holding the position of Industries Commissioner & Director of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tamil Nadu while also holding the post of Managing Director of M-TIPB (The MSME Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau), MSME Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Her professional experience since 2004 up until now, includes serving in the roles of Collector, Director, Commissioner across various Governmental departments. Among her many qualifications, she recently earned the Master of Public Policy (MPP) from Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford.

Mr. Rakesh Adlakha

Deputy Chief of Mission & Head of Chancery, Embassy of India, Muscat, Oman.

Mr. Rakesh Adlakha is the Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Muscat, Oman, joined the Embassy of India in February 2017. He is an officer of the Indian Foreign Service and has vast experience of working in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Prior to serving the Indian Mission in the Sultanate of Oman, he has served in Indian Missions in France, USA, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
Mr. Adlakha is a graduate from Delhi University.

Mr. Israr Ahmed is the Regional Chairman – Southern Region of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations. Mr. Ahmed has 23 years of experience in the export business and is one of the promoters of the internationally renowned Farida Group. Aside from holding various portfolios, Mr. Ahmed is also the Chairman- Southern Region, Council of Leather Exports and Director of Skill Development Council for Leather Sector.
