The agreement, which runs for three years, allows both parties to negotiate future contracts quickly and provides a solid foundation for developing future business, STATS group said in a statement.
It also covers pipeline isolation and localised hydrostatic testing services.
The agreement has an option for a two-year extension, and includes the isolation and testing services for PDO’s oil and gas condensate, multi-phase pipelines and associated facilities.
Oman’s state exploration and production company PDO accounts for more than 70 per cent of the country's crude oil production and nearly all of its natural gas supply.
STATS said the scope of supply is to include an initial site survey, a client-witnessed FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) in STATS’ Abu Dhabi workshop, mobilisation of equipment and manpower and subsequent demobilisation.
STATS Group Middle East director, Angus Bowie, said: “We have enjoyed a close working relationship with PDO for a number of years and this (agreement) solidifies that connection and will accelerate our response times and minimise downtime for the client.
“The agreement comes at a time when STATS Group are considering expanding our Middle East presence with new workshop, storage and testing facilities in Muscat, which will be supported by our existing base in Abu Dhabi.”
