GCC meet on Standardisation Organisations from today

Oman, represented by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) will host the second meeting of the GCC Cooperation Complexes for Recognised Organisations, from Sunday. The four-day meeting is being organised by the GCC Standardization Organization at Sundus Rotana.

The meeting will discuss the mechanisms for continuous improvement and development to implement the GCC system for food safety, standardise the implementation mechanism, ensure the quality of output by accredited organisations and enhance the development of the GCC system for tracing conformity.

It will also discuss revising the employment system with relevant stakeholders in GCC member states, the accredited organisations and managing employment function at the standardisation organisations.

During the meeting, MoCI represented by the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology will present a paper on the stages of implementation of the GCC Regulation for low voltage electrical appliances. In addition, data on e-certificates that have been accepted by the sultanate and consignments that have entered the country since the application of the regulation last year will be highlighted.
