Oman LNG to finance games centre for disabled children

Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed al Mahrouqi, Director General of Planning and Studies, at the Ministry of Social Development and Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah al Musin, CEO of the Development Establishment at Oman LNG, on Sunday signed an agreement by which Oman LNG will donate RO 116,140 to finance the construction of a games corner for disabled children at Al Sahwa Gardens. The centre includes games that suit the different types of disabilities and autism. The project will provide recreational facilities for disabled children on parity with other children.

The corner enhances inclusion of disabled children and raise public awareness of the challenges they face. The “external games corner for disabled children” is part of “Loyal to Society” programme, promoted by the ministry in cooperation with a number of private sector organisations. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and a number of officials from the ministry, Muscat Municipality and the company.
