As part of the event that was inaugurated by Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, undersecretary at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, NBC launched its first edition of Mentorship Programmeto play a role in developing skills of the incubated SMEs in NBC and Riyada. The exhibition, which was held at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), aimed at exploring business opportunities for the SMEs through targeting purchasing directors and decision makers of public and private bodies.
The exhibition presented an interactive platform to allow SMEs and the interested bodies to enhance communication and discuss collaboration opportunities. The programme is designed to help Omani youth to benefit from the experience of leading mentors in the entrepreneurship field and other fields in the Sultanate, which play a great role in achieving growth, excellence and sustainability of the incubated companies. Mentorship Programme will continue for six months that will comprise one meeting per month between the mentors and the incubated companies. The meetings will take place in the forms personal meetings, phone discussions, or through emails, depending on the circumstances of the companies and as agreed by the parties.
It should be noted that NBC is an initiative launched by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) at KOM to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures. The services of NBC are divided into three phases, comprising pre-incubation, during incubation, and acceleration phase.
