L&T awarded large pipeline contract by KOC

Indian engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) has won a large order - ranging between $360.61 million and $721.23 million - from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for a new strategic gas export pipeline.

The pipeline and its associated facilities will span approximately 145 km. The contract has been awarded through international competitive bidding on a lump sum turnkey (LSTK) basis, the company said.

L&T is currently executing a new 48" crude transit line (CTL) from North Kuwait to Central Mixing Manifold (CMM) located near Ahmadi (Kuwait).

Bagging this order from KOC reflects the confidence of oil and gas majors in L&T’s capabilities to execute large projects for the industry globally, it said.

Last week, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) had won a large order from Tawfiq Coke Products-Oman. The contract scope includes the selection of technology licensor, FEED and EPC for a two 225,000 TPA plant of calcined coke from green pet coke.
