The launch comes in collaboration with the SME Development Authority (Riyada).
Oman Shell designed the programme to ensure that it aligns with Shell’s social investment strategy and Oman Vision 2040. The programme takes into consideration the aspirations of its partners and entrepreneurs, whilst focusing on empowering entrepreneurs and Omani businesses working in the fields of sustainability and renewable energy.
The new version of Shell Intilaaqah includes an intensive one-month certifiable training programme, where participants will undergo courses in the fields of sustainability, solar panel installation, health, safety and environment, as well as topics in the fields of entrepreneurship, marketing, quality management, work ethics, compliance and other relevant topics.
Additionally, the programme will host local and regional experts to enrich the programme with their practical experiences. The programme also includes a module that is considered a requirement to register and obtain accreditation in the installation of solar panels by the Authority for Public Services Regulation.
“Through our partnership with Shell, we look to support SMEs growth and widen their horizons with necessary knowledge and skills. This programme will contribute to achieving better results by connecting entrepreneurs to experts who have paved the way in Solar energy and sustainability in Oman and beyond,” said Halima bint Rashid Al-Zari, President of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada).
Malak bint Ahmed Al-Shaibani, GM Corporate Relations and In-Country Value, Oman Shell said: “Since the inauguration of Shell Intilaaqah in the Sultanate more than 25 years ago, it has positively inspired and equipped entrepreneurs and SMEs with the right skills and tools to develop their businesses and contribute to the national economy.”
