The Year 2022 was a phenomenal journey for BGI and my thanks and appreciation go to each of you for the belief and support extended to the BGI Team. In 2022 we continued to work on strengthening our client relations by rising to meet, and in some case exceed, the client’s expectations. In doing so, we have managed to hit many prominent milestones along the way. We at BGI are passionate about driving In-Country Value (ICV) in Oman while supporting the Government of Oman’s Vision 2040 goals in enabling a digital economy.In our December edition of the JSRS monthly Newsletter we look back on the past events, achievements and the journey so far. Welcoming new entrants on the JSRS
In 2022, the Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) grew tenfold with new Suppliers, Operators and Buyers joining us. With our community growing every year, we are shedding light on the new entrants who have joined JSRS this year.
Buyers Community
The JSRS Buyers Community is a highly reputed group of organizations consisting of all the Oil & Gas Operators, Other Industry Buyers, Contractors, EPCs across Oman. In 2022, we welcomed Mazoon Petrogas [a Company engaged in a Small Fields Service Agreement with PDO as a Service Provider], Shell EP Oman B.V (Oman Branch) [a partner in Oman’s remarkable development over the decades], Shell Oman Exploration and Production B.V (Oman Branch) [an exploration and production company in the Sultanate that accounts for more significant amount of the country’s crude oil production and natural gas supply] and Abraj Energy Services SAOC [Oman’s leading drilling company with one of the youngest and most advanced drilling fleets in the GCC] to the JSRS Buyers Community. globeconnect, driven by businessgateways, is an exciting initiative addressing the needs of the international community to enhance B2B interactions between Oman and the other Nations.We welcome International and National Trade Organizations & Embassies based in Oman or around the world seeking to engage with Oman’s JSRS business community for Trade and Investment, to join the globeconnect Partner Program. The JSRS Contracts Management System (JSRS-CMS), is a special initiative by the Oman Ministry of Energy and Minerals, to offer Equal Opportunities to Omani SMEs / LCCs, during the process of dispersing ICV based Obligation Contract Awards. The JSRS-CMS is a one-stop platform integrating Supplier Sourcing, Response, Award & Tracking of the entire Project's / Contract's Supply Chain. Madayn organises Building and Construction Business Meet
On 6 December 2022, Madayn organised the ‘Building and Construction Business Meet’ at Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC, which aimed at highlighting the latest developments & technologies at the local and global scale in the building and construction industry, the key role played by the building and construction industry in the Manufacturing Sector, as well as the dynamic role of related businesses in supplying high-quality products for infrastructure projects.During the Meet, Jalal Al Hadhrami, Director of Local Content and Business Opportunities at the Industrial Innovation Academy, elaborated on ‘RABT Programme’, which is being implemented by the academy to link the existing industries in the industrial cities with the government tenders and to serve the industrial sector in the Sultanate through encouraging investments, facilitating purchases at the sector level, and enhancing the local value.The RABT is implemented by Business Gateways International (businessgateways) on behalf of the Industrial Innovation Academy (IIA).

9 Events | May to August 2022
Over the past couple of years, due to the Covid Pandemic, we at businessgateways were fully supporting the JSRS community using online platforms. However, considering the current back-to-business environment and since our office in Muscat was open, we were keen to ‘meet and greet’ our Omani JSRS Suppliers and interact regarding JSRS.With ‘Meet-JSRS-ملتقى’, the BGI-JSRS Team held special in-person support sessions at various cities in Oman and the UAE so existing JSRS Certified Suppliers & Suppliers wanting to be JSRS Certified in those regions, can conveniently meet and interact with us on the concerns and clarifications regarding JSRS and better manage their JSRS Certification compliance requirements.We held 9 Events across Oman & UAE: Ibri, Dubai, Sohar, Muscat, Nizwa, Haima, Salalah and Al-buraimi. These Events were an immense success with over 400+ Companies joining us for informative sessions packed with Presentations on ICV, SME and Investment Opportunities by key stakeholders along with an introduction to the Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS).
