About the Presentation

Speaking at the JSRS RIYADA e-Marketplace held at OGWA 2018. Mr. Ghassan Fadhal Bait Bin Saleem, In Country Value Analyst in Daleel Petroleum presented details of their engagement with the local companies & SMEs in the past as well as future scope and plans.

 

The presentation dwelt more on Daleel’s local partnerships with local companies and SMEs. It started with Daleel involvement in the Sultanate’s ICV initiatives. Daleel Petroleum reserves a total of 30% out of the total expenditure from the company’s activities for ICV. It is carried out in the form of Omanization in recruitment and procurement from Omani companies only.

Next, Mr. Ghassan spoke about Daleel’s business relationship with SMEs. He highlighted that the company has awarded contracts worth USD 5mn for SMEs between 2010 to 2015.

Various support programs like Vendor Development Program (VDP), Daleel Petroleum SME Mentorship, Oil & Gas SME Networking Session etc were organized to aid the development of local companies and SMEs.

One of the highlights in the presentation was the 6 key lessons a company needs in order to be successful in the Oil & Gas Industry.

They are:

  1. Building Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is important to be able to glean market “Know How”.
  2. Developing B2B marketing and selling strategies.
  3. Building Relationships & Trust with your clients.
  4. Showcasing Resources and Capabilities to showcase competency & promote reliability
  5. Sharing knowledge and experience from experts and ensuring continuous learning & development.
  6. Developing a culture of Innovation and Specialization to get a competitive edge.

Mr.Ghassan also informed the audience on the availability of upcoming tender details on Daleel Website.

He concluded with advising companies to register with the Joint Supplier Registration System (JSRS) in order to connect with Daleel’s Tender opportunities.
